Help Captivate 2.3 taking videos

JLEaton

Lurker
Hello, this is my first post ever on any forum so bear with me. Yesterday I upgraded my Captivate to version 2.3.5 (not without a lot of problems) but now it's done. While learning the differences from 2.1, I tried taking a video for he first time and it worked. Then I cleaned things up bit removing the page to the right of the home page and all the blank pages. I don't think I removed anything related to video on the right page. Now I can't figure out how to take videos again. The on line manual says click camera and touch the red dot. There is no red dot. Then it says touch something in the upper right corner, but the something is not there. I'm using the on line manual which was written for 2.1 so that may be part of the problem. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Thanks, JLE

Depending which way you're holding your phone while in camera mode, you should see a little black tab with a white triangle in it. Click the triangle and some other option tabs will pop up. There's one that has a camera with an arrow pointing to a video camera, click that.

Thanks, The Shape. Unfortunately in camera mode the upper right corner has only a battery charge icon and a picture of a cell phone (looks like my Treo 600) with a triangular arrow (like a filled in delta) pointing to it plus the number 8524 which is probably the number of photos I can take. I think what you are describing was there before I deleted the page to the right of the home page, but I don't think that page had any icon relating to video. JLE

That has nothing to do with it. I wish I could take a picture of my phone in camera mode to show you what I'm talking about. There's a white triangle in a black tab. You click that to see more options, including video mode. I'm telling you, it's there.

Thanks again, The Shape, I finally figured it out. Thre were hidden icons on the camera screen which I didn't know about and messing around on he screen finally brought them up and I now know how to do that and, yes, there is an icon for switching back and forth between camera and video. Thanks, JLE
