Captivate and Gingerbread

So, has anyone heard anything recently about the Captivate actually getting Gingerbread?

Before at&t releases it on the captivate they will release the sg2. So sometime next year.

I would be pretty surprised if the Captivate doesn't get Gingerbread before the end of October. The latest leak is pretty solid.

I stopped by an AT&T company store this AM to ask about the release and the local "techie" told me that AT&T had decided they were not going to release it and that any gingerbread releases etc. were between Samsung and Google and AT&T was out of the picture.
