Captivate Battery Usage When Plugged In?

When you have the captivate plugged in and the battery is completely charged, does the phone then run completely off AC or does it continue to run off the battery and the AC just continually recharges it?

Used my navigation for almost a five hour trip via car charger stayed at 97/98% to whole time.

I'd be pretty sure the phone ONLY runs off the battery. However, it should switch to trickle-charge when the battery is topped off. So, if you leave it plugged it, it runs off the battery while the charger keeps the electricity trickling in.

That's what I always thought too.

You can use a laptop when plugged in even if you remove the battery. That doesn't work with phones. ;)

I'm no expert on the subject though!

That's what I was thinking also. I don't know why they just can't engineer them to run completely off the charger after they are at 100%.

This is why I don't leave my phone plugged in over night.
