Help captivate crashing

My captivate randomly crashes. It seems to happen in spurts. it will go a day or two without crashing and then suddenly it won't stay on for 5 minutes. When i turn it back on I see no error messages. It does NOT crash while i

It's a common problem. your choices are:

1.return it to stock then call att and hope the replacement they send you does not suffer the same fate.

2.deal with it.

Hmmm. Define "crash," please. Until you wrote the above my assumption was that it was randomly turning itself off.

thanks for the responses. I totally missed the "captivate support troubleshooting" section which has several posts about this issue. I have the same idle crashing issue that everyone else has.

I called Samsung last week and the lady from India told me to ship my phone into them for repair (she emailed me a shipping label). I didn't like that option. From what I read on the main crashing post some people have been sent new phones. Should I call At&t and complain instead?
