Root Captivate dock audio port

I've gotten the charging dock for my Cappy and the user manual says the audio out in the back will work with Android 2.2. But so far it hasn't with Cognition 2.3b6 & Axura 2.4. Does any ROM have this working yet?

I believe you have to have Home Dock Samsung installed ... from the Marketplace. Since 2.2 isn't out for the Captivate yet, I don't think Samsung has even put the program in the Marketplace yet.

The apps are definitely in the marketplace (search for "car home" and "desk home" by Samsung) but you're right, for some reason they say the audio out requires 2.2 which is a nice slap in the face.

Just tested "Desk Home" with Axura 2.5.1 (FroYo 2.2.1) and no go. The music button just says "No Activity" (same as "Daily Briefing"). When I play something with the music player, then go back to Desk Home, same thing: no audio through the rear port.

Coming to the conclusion Samsung makes good hardware but they don't care much about the software.

Eh, they make some questionable hardware decisions too. They should just focus on their SAMOLED screens and put them into the hands of HTC and Motorola to then stick in their phones.

It's a travesty that right now the only way to get a nice screen is to settle for a Samsung phone.
