Root Captivate locked?

Sorry if this is in the wrong section.

I'm going to be traveling in europe next week and want to know if my phone will work if I buy a sim card with minutes over there.

If anyone has experience with this please let me know.

Is the captivate locked? Will att allow me to use another sim card?

You can check if your phone is sim-locked by typing *#7465625#

If it is locked then you will have to ask AT&T for the code or use the Galaxy S Unlock Tool to get it yourself

I have not read of an instance where AT&T has released an unlock code for the Captivate yet. I don't think it's going to happen anytime soon either.

Your best bet is to unlock the phone yourself
