Help Captivate on AT&T Edge won't load internet

So I am currently living in a small town where 3g is non existant. However I do almost always have full Edge coverage. The other night I noticed while I am on Edge I cannot load any websites and none of my applications that need the internet will load. I figured this was probably just how life was on Edge. However, my roommate who has an iPhone on AT&T can load the exact same websites in a matter of seconds on Edge. Any clue what the deal is?

Were you talking at the same time?

EDGE doesn't support data and voice simultaneously.

Have you tried powering off your phone and powering it back on again? I have had times where I was unable to load a web page or even connect to anything on the Internet at all, and a reboot allowed me to connect again.

Instead of full reboot, consider toggling in and out of flight mode to reset your connection to the cell towers.
