Help Captivate randomly goes to the home menu when typing

Hi. This happens when I'm typing a text message, typing into a search box, or doing anything while typing on the Captivate. The screen randomly goes to the main menu. The text is preserved, so when I click on the app, the text is still there, but it's very frustrating. I'm currently running the latest update, so maybe it's one of the bugs. I rooted the captivate before updating, but it is no longer rooted, as I haven't gotten around to doing that yet.

Does anybody have a similar problem and if so, is there a solution?
