Help captivate started lagging big time

My phone was fine last night then this morning it started lagging so bad I can't even use it! I have tryed rebooting and removing the battery and it still laggs! Should I try a factory reset or root and get a lag fix? The phone has been great for 7 months no problems untill now. I downloaded system panel to see if any apps were going carzy and it seems the apps are ok. Any help would be great thanks!

Have you installed any new apps? If so uninstall the last app you installed.

Have'nt installed any new apps just updates! And I uninstalled the last app that updated no luck!

First I'd reboot the device.

But, also, sudden lag is sometimes caused by a "sync loop." Facebook, etc and gmail syncing at the same time, or with a task killer trying to stop the process, and the process automatically starting again and again, can drain resources and cause slow downs.

I'd go in and stop all apps with auto syncing and background updating (weather, etc) first. Then I'd toss any task "killer" out the window (that'll get an argument here and there ).

I have the same problem. I wonder if it has something to do with google's recent updates with the market and map. I've tried a lot of things but I can still notice a considerable amount of lag that I haven't seen before...

I think I found the culprit a app called battstatt updated last nite! I uninstalled it and the lag seems to be gone! I don't thing it was the market or maps update. This lagg was so bad I could'nt even scroll the screens It seems to be fixed!

I was having lag all day too. I guess cause of Battstatt. Uninstalled it, and everything seems back to normal. Must of had a bug in the update.

Same here, and it was crashing launcher pro about every 20 minutes. The changelog says some changes were made to correct Galaxy S 2.2.1 problems. What ever they did seems to have created some 2.1 problems though.

Thats wierd. Battstatt never lagged my captivate.
Oh well, wierd.
