Gezz, that phone sucks!!! When they first came out I was looking to get one. I started reading the Captivate forum and didn't like what I read. I waited and got the Nexus S.
Last night I went to help a friend that just got one from ATT. What a pile!!! She took it back already. Slow, GPS never locked on, buttons suck, bad loaded apps...
I really thought the Nexus S is an amazing phone, now I'm sure of it.

Basically the same phone. So if.you root and rom the captivate its as good.if not better
 
The Captivate is nothing like the Nexus S. Doesn't even feel the same. It really is everything bad the owners say it is. It's not the OS, it is bad hardware with bad apps installed. ATT should be ashamed to sell that phone....
 
I had a captivate and loved the form factor. But a flagship smartphone with no camera flash is ******ed. The nexus s is in its own league right now.
