Accessories Car Charger for GPS usage

Has anyone recently purchased a car charger for their HTC Desire that is capable of keeping the phone charged while GPS navigation software is in use? I'm looking for one which is available through ebay or an online UK retailer. Heard the official one doesn't fit snugly in some cars so I'd rather avoid it.

I've got the Brodit one and it works brilliantly. Seems to give the full 1A charge rather than the USB 0.5A.

You need to buy the Brodit clip for your model of car too. Not cheap but very good.

That's a bit too expensive given I'll only be using it for a month. Thanks just the same mate.
