Car Dock Mode?

I've been using google nav more recently and saw that there is a "car dock mode" for android.

Can we access this on our Vibrant?

According to this article it only works on Nexus One and original Droid phones running 2.2, but will be expanding to other phones as well.

I guess the article was referring to Google supplied apps.

Are you using Car Home with the Samsung dock, or does it also work without it?

I too would like to be able to customize the shortcuts on the screen...oh well for now...

It works without the suction cup dock. Plugged in or not, it is like any other app. Hope it is something you may like. I am currently not concerned with anything other than Waze when I drive
