Help Car dock problem

I purchased the dock this weekend and when I put the TB in it the unit is supposed to go into navigation mode and it does not. I had the original Droid and it would go into Navigation mode when I put it into the dock.

Is this a problem with the phone and can be fixed with an update or is it a problem with the dock itself?

I found with mine that you really have to push it into the dock. Although the top latch will close you have to push it further down. Im not a big fan of this dock over the one I had for my X, Ill give it some time to wear in, maybe it will get better.
