Car Dock

I was really taken with the Droid, but for my family, I just couldn't see paying Verizon $50 more a month just to have one, so we are switching to AT&T...

Really liked the "car dock" thing with the Droud X...Does this app work on the Captivate or is there a similar app that works like this?
 
Not sure what the "car dock" thing was but it sounds like it might be similar to the "Car Home" app. Do a search for it on the marketplace.

Also check out "Desk Home".

Here's a screen shot of the app on the Droid X (I believe). It basically just puts up some big buttons and gives it a more GPS unit look.

In the same vein, Does anyone recommend any actual Docks for the Captivate?
I'm specificly looking for a windshield mount, and maybe a Bicycle mount that fits the phone, but doesn't look god awful.
 
i am looking for one also but i do not want one tat clips onto vents windshield or 12v socket would be cool
 
I use a device called a "Dash Genie" ... I first saw it mentioned on the Dell Mini forums (by Streak owners) ... and while it doesn't seem to work for that device, it does work quite well for the Captivate. I haven't been able to find any US Sellers, but there's several UK sellers on eBay here.
 
The more I look at it, the more I don't like the official dock. The base is just too thick, looks like one of those automated minigun or rocket turrets from a video game.
