Car Mode starts at random

Hi all,

My HTC Desire/Bravo has received the OTA upgraded to Froyo (2.2) and everything is wayyyy sharper.

However, there seems to be an issue with the phone putting itself into "car mode" at random - this interrupts whatever program I'm using and disrupts tasks like tying. It also means that all cals automatically default to speakerphone.

I can't find an option on the phone settings to configure car mode, so i'm at a loss as to how to control it. Any suggestions?

Cheers,

- Rosco

I havent spotted the pattern yet, but every time I leave the phone alone it seems to have put itself into car mode.

Any solution to getting rid of this completely would be of great help. Is it possible to go back to android 2.1 without having to re-install the apps?

I have an HTC Desire. I have the same problem. Saw the car mode icon, didn't know what it was and swtiched it off. Now every call I make goes straight to speaker phone and its annoying that I have to switch that off for every call. Any suggestions how to stop it going to speaker phone automatically? and where has this stupid car mode come from and how can I select/unselect it?

Hi redhedednomad and rickydoodah!

Welcome dudes / dudettes!

Try giving ur phone a soft reset or alternatively you cud try do a hard reset. However the hard reset will make you lose all your data and return it to the way it came out the box.

SOFT RESET: Just turn off and take out the battery for about 10 seconds.

HARD RESET: Hold down Volume button then breifly press power button.

PM (personal massage me) if you need help.

Hope this helps!

I've spotted that if I answer the phone when connected via cable to my car radio loudspeaker, all future calls (without the cable connection) go to loudspeaker. When I next connected via bluetooth headset and answered a call, it corrected itself. Not entirely sure why it does this, but there may be a clue here.

Hey buddy!

Hmm that is very odd.... i wud recommend re-installing Android and if that does not do the trick then there might be something wrong with the handset perhaps? :/ then that really is not cool. I really hope you just need to re-install Android dude..... :
