Help car mode won't go away

car mode icon in the notification window won't go away. keeps popping the phone into car mode. i click "exit car mode" and the icon stays in the notification bar then after a random amount of time it pushes the phone back into car mode.
I woke up on the couch with a dead battery last night my batt never dies.
the screen won't turn off auto because the app keeps flipping on / off
AutoKill app shows 62 - 64mb free memory after autokill. usually around 170 - 200.

reboot alleviates the problem for a few hours then it starts again.

only change i've made in the last few days was to Uninstall Zynga Poker and a few apps updated automatically but I don't remember which.

Yet ANOTHER app I am forced to keep on my phone that is giving me problems.. i HATE BLOATWARE!

I had this issue and it was due to dirt in the USB connector. Clean up the dirt in the connector area and it may resolve your issue.
