Car mount for the Nexus S 4G?

I bought the Arkon universal mount when I had my EVO. I specifically got it so I could use it for future phones. It's easy to install and the Nexus S fits in snug as a bug in a rug.

The one I got is the first one on the left. $20 and can fit phones smaller than the Nexus to larger than the EVO.

thanks for taking the time to post the link. i've been looking at the Arkon too, but the slim version SM514. I called their customer service and spoke with a guy- he felt the one you got would interfere with the volume button- i take it it doesn't. you're happy with it obviously - i may get that one instead - looks more secure. how do you like the vent mount? also - does your cradle pop off the stem? if so, is it a ball at the end of the stem? he told me i could use the 513 on my garmin bean bag too.
thanks for the help!

Worth every penny, they fit the phones they are designed for like a glove.

Just slide it in and slide it out when your done

And when you get a new phone in 1-2 yrs you can just toss it in the trash and spend another $90... and if you have a case on your phone it won't work

I prefer a universal one... Mobile Grip-iT Windshield Mount Kit | Bracketron

this one has one of the sturdiest suction cups I have ever seen and it will fit pretty much any phone I ever get both horizantal or vertical, depending how you like using the gps.

They also have other non-window mounts with the same holder.

But then again it is MY money... Anyway I need a mount that will be guaranteed to stay were it is even when the car experiences a lateral load of around 1.2G. The ProClip mounts handle that very well and I've seen suction cup mounts fail

I don't adjust the volume when it's in the cradle, so I've never checked to see if it affects the volume buttons. It doesn't change the volume unintentionally, if that's what you're worried about.

I use the vent mount as it's illegal to mount on the windshield in California, and it was totally fine until I accidentally knocked the cradle clean off through an accident that was completely my fault. Now it rattles sometimes, but that's my own fault and not a problem with the Arkon.

The cradle ball is attached to it, and then has a connector that can be attached to either the vent mount or the windshield mount. You can't remove the ball from the cradle.

Hope that helps!

thanks - sorry about your accident! you can't remove the cradle & bracket from the ball on the stem?? the guy at akron told me i could. that was one of the things that sold me on it - so i could pop it off and use on my garmin bean bag mount!

yeah... spend your money however you please (I've certainly blown $90+ on worse things), I just don't see "most" people wanting to spend that when good mounts can be had for less, and some of those mounts are very universal. I see th pic so a window mount may not work for you, but they do have a few other options, and the holder itself is very solid and would fit a lot of phones. Obviously you already have yours, but for those that haven't spent the money yet... Bracketron makes a nice product.
