Card reader for Tab A 10.5 (2018)

I have an OTG card reader with a USB-B connection. I also have a USB-B to USB-C adaptor. When I plug the card reader, with the adaptor, into the TAB A it doesn't register.

If I plug the card reader, without the adaptor, into my A7 phone it registers.

Any advice please?

It would appear SD card was corrupt. When I installed ES File Explorer this information was given. The Samsung file app just ignored the corruption and did not even show the card reader!!

Having corrected the corruption, in ES File Explorer, even the Samsung app now shows the SD card in the reader?

just an fyi i would ditch es file explorer. they might have patched it up, but they had vulnerabilities and the company that bought es was known to include adware on their apps....so much so that all of their apps including es file explorer have been removed from the play store.

Yes have just changed to FX File commander after a search for ES problems.
