Really hef? That sucks! My first order was cancelled due to my credit, so I re-ordered with my partner's details yesterday afternoon and it's already been despatched to be delivered tomorrow.

It's probably worth calling them about it hef because it's showing as in stock on their website.
 
it was showing as in stock when i ordered it too. i don't think they update their website likes.
all the emails i've gotten from them so far have arrived later on in the evening so i'm gonna wait patiently, for now.
 
you bought exactly what i've ordered from exactly the same place.
still no email.


EDIT: WOAFT. just been back to their site and they have removed that deal from the listings. deffo phoning them tomorrow to make sure i've not been shafted.
 
Never used them in the past but have my Milestone sitting in front of me all well here, checked to make sure i was on the contract i was supposed to and no problem there either.

And do you know what the terms are for unlocking the mobile? Can you do it only when the contract ends or even a few months before? Do you know how much it costs, and if you should contact t-mobile or the website where you bought the Milestone?
 
Do you mean by unlocked as in unbranded so it can take any mobile carrier ? mine was a un branded phone so will take any sim card you put in it, had nothing put on it from T-Mobile its the phone as it would be direct from Motorola.

no sign of mine yet. sent them an email today to find out what's happening but in their last email theu said it could take two more weeks before i see mine. i guess they'll reply tomorrow.

as far as i am aware motorola don't lock the milestones to a particular network. i may be wrong though. i'll test mine out on a PAYG sim when i get it and let you know.

Well, I guess at least some Motorolas are locked. The Motorola website reports the following faq:

but it isn't clear to me if it applies to the Milestone, too.
It will be interesting to understand if the Milestones sold by buymobilephones.net are locked or not. If they aren't, it's great, almost too good to be true!

Well mine came with the 2.0 on the same day the update came out so i downloaded it and updated mine to 2.0.1, the phone is a unbranded phone so its how it was when it left Motorola.

When you buy a phone direct from say Orange/O2/Vodafone/T-mobile you will find they have there own software on or locked to there network, i bought a Hero about 6 months ago and that was the same Unbranded and it is the same i can use any sim in it.
 
yeah i'm pretty sure because the software all comes from google they don't provider lock the phones, just supply you with a sim.

have you heard anything yet? i'm still getting the "your order is being processed" line from them - surely it can't take that long (4 days since they got new stock)
 
got reply about 45 mins ago which says they apparently have no stock yet.

i reckon they didn't get enough of them in to cover all the orders or somethin.
 
Video i made shortly after getting it at the time i had the 2.1 launcher installed but found sometimes when people rang i never got the ring tone sound also so removed it now, but i am still using the 2.1 gallery as i prefer it to the standard one, had to black out a few things as you will see as they were private.

The music played on the video was random choice so i don't know who they are lol.

I got mine on Wednesday and I'm really happy with it. But I'm equally annoyed that you guys haven't had yours yet!

I wonder what the deal is, especially since you ordered yours a few days before I did, hef. Surely it should be first come first serve?

I used to work in shipping for an internet-based company and if an order was a real pita we would always ship the easier ones first. Or maybe they send out orders first for people who opted to pay more for the phone up-front rather than monthly? Maybe that's how they prioritise it because they get more money that way? *shrug*

Jabby, thanks for the video! Reminded me of a few things I could do with my phone that I haven't even bothered trying doing yet (mostly because my body thought it would be really funny and time the delivery of my phone with me getting a nasty case of the flu).

well it turns out in my case that they simply lost some of my details, which I have resent them today, so hopefully it's not too far off now.:D

glad you are enjoying it, can't wait to get mine now (sorry to hear of the flu:( )
 
just phoned them up to find out wtf is going on.
the girl i spoke to was pretty helpful. phoned into their warehouse or whatever and arranged to have my phone sent either today or on monday. thank god.
