Carrier IQ

Given that there were "Sprint" icons in the app drawer, its doubtful. The Sensation is pictured for the engadget article however.

HTC sensation does have this...though its not called carrier iq, it's called HTC report agent.

All computers, yes ur phone can and is classified as a computer, has these loggers. Its more like a temporary file folder. It only reports though when ur phone crashes. U know, the "tell HTC"? The HTC report agent reports the keystrokes and combinations and as to what was happening before the phone failed.

All phones classified as a smartphone has it. On regular computer, it's called "cookies" or cache or simply temp files. Whenu reboot/restart the phones, it gets cleared or u can just clear it urself. Either way, all phones has it...and also u can turn it off.

Media is making too big of a deal about this. Yeah, its on our phones. But its been on your computer, even in your car for a LONG time. Unless the entire HTC corporate and developers team gets hacked, anything you've done is safe. T-Mobile or what ever carrier your on sees every phone call and text. If the Police wanted to, they could read a text you sent 6 months ago.

Its not a big deal,
Lucas
