Root Carrier IQ

So, now that we have root on our ZMAX I've been looking at different battery and wake lock apps to optimize my on screen time.
When I saw...

lolwut
So, I then ran

And sure enough.
I'm posting this because I haven't seen or heard anyone point it out.
For the uninitiated

This is disturbing. I checked on mine, which is MetroPCS, and it is, indeed, there. I also checked on my son's LG F60, and it is also on that phone. Thanks for bringing this up!

To be safe, for now, I have disabled the following three applications:

System Manager Application (Could not be disabled in the Apps Settings. Frozen, with Titanium Backup)
System Manager Notification (Disabled in Apps Settings. Titanium Backup now shows it as Frozen)
System Manager Toggle (Disabled in Apps Settings. Titanium Backup now shows it as Frozen)

I will report back, if this causes any issues, over the next few days. If anyone removes them, certainly share your experiences.

An even better approach:

Using a guide for the LG G3, that was posted on XDA (link, below) I adapted it for our phones (Mine is MetroPCS, but it should work on the others), and this seems to work.

Using Root Explorer, or ES File Manager with the Root Explorer option enabled:

Navigate to the /system/priv-app folder and rename the following files, by adding .bak to the end of the filename:
IQ_OOB.apk --> IQ_OOB.apk.bak
IQ-tmobile.apk --> IQ-tmobile.apk.bak
IQToggle.apk --> IQToggle.apk.bak

Navigate to the /data/data folder and rename the following folders, by adding .bak to the end of their names:
com.carrieriq.tmobile --> com.carrieriq.tmobile.bak
com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQOOB --> com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQOOB.bak
com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQToggle --> com.carrieriq.tmobile.IQToggle.bak

Navigate to the /system/lib/ folder and rename the following folders, by adding .bak to the end of the filename:
libiq_service_tmobile_2.2.so --> libiq_service_tmobile_2.2.so.bak

By simply renaming the files, if it breaks anything, you can just reverse the process, and all is well. Alternatively if you are feeling frisky, just delete them, at your own risk. I will probably delete them, later, once I am sure nothing is broken,

Enjoy, and let me know if you find anything I missed.

So far, so good, by renaming the files, which has the same result as deleting them, except I can put them back, easily, if needed.

So any idea why I wouldn't have it in my phone? I went to go delete the files, and none were there. The closest one is called

OOBEAssist.apk

So I went to the Playstore and downloaded the iq checker, and it says no. I just heard about this yesterday... I know I haven't already changed or erased them...
