Accessories Case for a spare battery?

I just ordered a 1500 mAh off ebay from bidallies and I plan on using the stock 1300 one as a spare battery. I was wondering how everyone carried around their spare batteries. Do you put it in a plastic case of some sort or do you just throw it in a pocket of some sort. I feel weird about just putting it in a pocket without a case for it. I put batteries in my backpack with no case often (AAs & 9volt & such). Is it much different than that? Could the battery discharge or leak or get damaged is what I'm most concerned about.
