Case for the Samsung Note 2014

Just curious what folks are using for a case for the Samsung Note 2014 edition tablet?

I see a small handful on Amazon that look about the same:
Poetic

ProCase

MoKo

RooCase

Those are all about the same. And I notice they all leave the corners vulnerable. It would be nice to have something with a little more protection. Especially for the one my son will be getting and bringing to school.

On the other hand, this one seems a little too much and maybe it would be a hassle ot use the tablet:
RooCase Folio

So - just curious what others are using and if you have found something in between the above examples.

Thanks!

I have the moko one, it seems to give good protection, doesn't obscure any ports and has a handy handgrip for reading in portrait mode.

I have a Poetic case, similar to the IVSO one, which I like a lot.

Seriously, Gamul1, I think you can do better. Try here, lots of good ones. Galaxy Note 10.1 (2014 Edition) Accessories - xda-developers

Trying to interpret your response. First you say you have a Poetic case, which is one of the ones I linked to. Then tell me there are better ones on the XDA forums link. But going through one of the main case threads there seems to be mainly a compilation of the 4 I linked above, and a smattering of other cases that all seem similar to one of the same 4 above.

Not trying to be critical - I'm just not getting the distinction you're making. Sorry!

I have the Poetic Strapback. Amazon.com: Poetic StrapBack Case for Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Tablet Black (3 Year Manufacturer Warranty From Poetic): Computers & Accessories

Most of the cases you linked to have cheap leather-like stuff covering the front. The tablet slips and slides down behind it.

Since first starting this thread, I have heard so much about the magnet in the cases causing interference with the digitizer. It seems most people appear fine, but many do find issues with it.

I do not need the magnetic case. I don't need to auto wake my tablet. So - is anyone aware of some good non magnetic cases available for this tablet?

I asked this in a different forum, but got no responses there. I am hoping that does not mean they all have the magentics.

Thanks!

I'm using this one:

Amazon.com: VSTN Samsung Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition Ultra-Thin Multi-angle Stand Slim Smart Cover Case (Smart case, Black): Computers & Accessories

The part that the tablet snaps into is a hard case with all 4 corners protected. The flip cover is flexible with a felt like inner lining so not harm the screen.

The only thing that isn't 100% easily accessible is the microSD card slot. It's accessible but very difficult without popping that side of the tablet out of the hard part of the case.

[edit] Forgot to mention that I have had zero issues with the magnets in the case.

I agree, the Moko one is great. Just received mine and it looks great and it really protects the tablet. All the ports are covered and you can charge the tablet with the cover closed.

Here are my thoughts on the Poetic Slimline case I just got.

What were they thinking? Why would you have the cover flip up from the bottom? That makes no sense to me. You should be able to lift up from the bottom and fold it over. That would make more sense. Perhaps the Wake feature requires the cover to open on top. Otherwise, a poor design.

I agree. It's a pain to use while charging and you have to use it up-side-down when you want a little elevation. That means buttons at the top where they're unfamiliar.

I bought the Moko the first time. Horrible!
1. Can't use the swipe feature to take a screen shot.
2. Has an odor
3. Poorly made. Cheap material. Cutouts are a bit ragged
4. Glu on the inside that goes against the screen when closed.
5. Those pockets on the inside cover leave lines on the screen (they do come off).
6. Just didn't feel nice.

Sent it back to Amazon and bought the Poetic. For the same price this cover is 110% better! Here is what I wrote on another android forum...

I bought the Moko Slim case first but sent it back for mulitple quality issues. For the same price, Poetic offers a much better case. Can't find anything to complain about. PLUS, you CAN do the "swipe to do a screen shot" with this case on. Couldn't with the Moko case...

Poetic Case...MUCHO BETTER! 110% BETTER! Can't believe the two cases (Moko) are the same price. The inside that touches the screen is perfectly smooth and softer. The quality of the case material is sooooo much better. The cutouts, soooo much nicer and aligned perfectly. No chemical smell, in fact, no smell at all. If I just had to find something I wasn't thrilled about it would be the black trim around 3 of the edges, but I'm not complaining. It kinda does give it a more professional look and offers more protection than the Moko. OK, so I take that back, there is 0 (zero) to complain about with this case I can't imagine how the Samsung case could be better and one of the reviews I saw said that the magnetic section of the front of the Samsung case tends to flop open. 5 stars!
ps...and if it matters to you like it does me, the packaging is a lot nicer as well. More times than not attention to detail in the packaging means a nicer product is inside

I just got the Moko case tonight. I can say that it is very much what I was looking for. I can access everything on the tablet and it fits very nicely. It is awkward to use the tablet upside down to lay the tablet on my lap but I can get used to it. The plus side is that it is very compact but yet very functional.

My OEM Samsung case arrived and so far it's great. Solid build leather back, the flip cover is thin and easy to flip. I don't use Daynote but it has its function for others. A bit pricier than other options but after dropping $600 on a tablet why bitch about $50 more? Super light weight, looks like the notes best case because of the lack of thick stitching and thick leather like products.

I bought my tablet at Best Buy as they were $30 cheaper than online or anywhere else. I didn't go in there planning to let them sell me anything else, but I did opt to buy the $70 Samsung brand case for it. I have to say, I am impressed by its quality.

It works exactly like its iPad equivalent, as far as I can tell. The magnetic cover clasps gently yet attaches firmly to the front of the device. The inner flap is soft, so there is no abrasion on the screen. It also folds for two different viewing angles. The back is the same fake plastic as the device, which is good or bad depending on how you feel about the faux leather. I personally do not mind it, so I appreciate that the back is so low profile. It adds very little extra width to the note, and it keeps it looking sleek.

I would say it only offers "light" protection, but it isn't insignificant. The corners of the case are composed of hard plastic to absorb any shock from minor falls. The case itself has a hard back and the front flap offers excellent protection to the screen for casual use.

Though I would not recommend this case if you're taking it hiking with you. It's great for casual strolls through the city or for campus use.

I use a poetic case and it's sweet...just like ipad snapable cover but with a back protector. Looks very classy, I recommend highly
