Yea i never understood why people say the love the premium feel of the HTC one, and then buy a $3 rubber case from amazon and put on it. i dont understand the love for the otterbox defender though, i mean $50 for a case when you can get a 2 year warranty for $100

well i agree, but you can get a good looking case for half the price. not saying its a bad case, but i do think it is overrated

My comments were addressing your build quality statements about the phone itself.

I'm not a fan of the otter box defenders either (simply because of the bulk), but I do enjoy the commuters. You can pick them up for half of retail on amazon, and they'll pretty much give you a lifetime warranty on them

I hate cases, so this is probably the first time I would have checked "Using a case" in a poll like this. The only reason why I got a case for my S4 is because of the camera on the back. It sticks out, which means the phone is always resting on it. I picked up the Spigen Neo Hybrid because it's thin, has button extensions, and the lip around the screen isn't that intrusive. It also, most importantly, protects the camera better than without a case.

I usually have the ninja death grip on my phones when pulling them out of my pockets. I never had a case on my previous phones (BB, iPhone, Nexus4) so having a case on my S4 is new to me, taking some time to get used to it. With this new case, the sleep/wake button is easily pressed, I do it every time I pull it out of my pocket. Gotta be careful, but overall I like it.

anyone getting scratches on their screen?r trying to decide if i want a screen protector or not.

will keeping the phone in my pocket with my keys going to scratch? that is the most likely thing to scratch my phone i would imagine...

I have an incipio case on it. The one with the rubber and hard plastic. I carried it naked the other day, and it does feel so nice without a case. Living at the beach, however, means sand everywhere so even gorilla glass is no match to a grain of sand in the pocket so I carry it on my hip in a holster. Hence the case. I might get a leather pouch with a belt clip if I can find one that fits. Most of the one's I've tried so far have been a touch too small.
