Cases for the RAZR MAXX

i just upgraded from my glitchy droid x and scratched up trident kraken case. i loved that case but it's not available for the razr maxx, and i can probably go less bulky this time with such a heavy duty phone.

i can't wait for the new seidio colors, i'm holding out for white. but for now i'll get the buy 2 get 1 free deal with the cruzer lite.

you guys are a huge help thanks!

I'm happy with the Otterbox Defender...At first I thought it was too bulky, but not any more. It wasn't cheap, but it was money well spent.

I was just curious browsing this site and I came up on this thread. I recently got a MAXX, and I love it, but cannot go around with a naked phone. I always get a case and holster, one that fits snug. I wanted to purchase a Otterbox defender, but couldn't figure paying $54 for one @ Best Buy. I did find a legit one on ebay for 30, which is an awesome deal for an item of this quality construction.

I have to say for the month that I have had it exactly it has not let me down. Feels rugged, secure. The screen protector does get prints on it from time to time. At first i had to two-hand it to remove it from the holster, now I've mastered it. It does have the kickstand, and it works well.

We got our Cruzer cases over the weekend and really like them. Does add much bulk, but definitely adds some protection and grip. Has a rubbery feel, but not overly tacky. I have the Verizon horizontal leather case that I used with my X, and the Maxx still fits in it with the Cruzer case on. As much as I loved the phone naked, I do feel better with some protection on it.

I picked up the black, glossy silicon case off Verizon's site and while it is a good fit and I like it I'd still prefer a matte black one. If anyone knows where to find one I'd appreciate a link. I tried a razr matte black and the fit was a tad small. A soft matte black that fits like this one would suit me very well. TIA :)

A matte black TPU case that may work for you. Reasonable price.Amazon.com: Diztronic Matte Back Black Flexible TPU Case for Motorola Droid Razr Maxx [ONLY FOR MAXX VERSION] (Verizon & Rogers) [Diztronic Retail Packaging]: Cell Phones & Accessories You never know, too bulky, too slim, not enough protection, too tacky, not tacky enough etc..., but at least the TPU cases won't break the bank if you decide you don't like them. Cruzerlite makes some nice Android theme TPU cases for under $10.

I have the diztronic matte smoke tpu case and love it. It fits perfectly, is a nice, slim design and I can still access the buttons with no problem. Bought it off amazon for under $10.

Soooo, I've went through 4 pages of this thread looking for the "this is the slimmest case while still providing adequate protection" and either overlooked it or it wasn't there.

I upgraded from a Incredible and am use to the smaller phone. The naked Maxx is perfect for me, but like most of us I know I will drop the thing. I'm currently using the Verizon silicone high gloss and it does the job, but I am looking for something thinner that still provides that level of protection.

Is there a cover talked about in this thread that will add virtually zero bulk along with providing grip? I went without my verizon cover today and the phone seemed to work better!!

Heres what Ive taken from the threads:

Otterbox Defender - silicone, soft, very bulky

Otterbox Commuter - hard case, thin

Seidio - the best, people waiting on new colors, expensive

Cruzerlite - great grips, cool android dude on case, silicone, medium bulk

Diztronic - ??

Kind of baffles me why someone would buy a phone where one of its best selling points is that it is thin, and then go and buy a case that makes it a fatty. I understand protection is obviously first thought, but still doesn't make sense on a thin phone.

I bought the Blue Verizon silicone protector and love it. Doesn't add much bulk at all. Although it does make it too thick to use in the HD Dock I got today, but just barely. I just ordered a blue case from cruzer Lite. I'll let you know how that goes.

Not everybody bought it because it was thin...I bought it for the battery. Due to my job, I would destroy this phone in a short period of time without the Otterbox. The extra bulk is a plus in my opinion and the silicone is "grippy" which is nice when you have big, calloused truck driver hands that are all thumbs.

Not everybody has the nice office jobs...not knocking the ones that do...just saying some of us have to get "down and dirty" when we work. These phones are probably the handiest thing a heavy haul truck driver could have (sort of a lap top in your pocket) for permits, dock receipts, CAT scale locations (very nice app)...I don't use the phones GPS but, in a pinch, it might be handy.

You know...different strokes for different folks.

My "office" is this 92,000 lb. mobile home...you can't really see the truck from this angle, but its a nice office...air conditioned, Vizio TV, microwave, and a small refridgerator...got a printer for the oversize permits too, LOL.

I was going to use nothing due to Kevlar back & Gorilla glass but read many stories online where the glass did scratch or the phone dropped & the glass cracked. I found the Diztronic case was under $10 & barely added bulk & it is the raised edge around the screen that will absorb the impact if it fell instead of the glass. So far, I love that case & looks integrated into the phone so does not seem like I am using a case. Less happy with the screen protector (air bubbles/scratches) as I mentioned earlier & will be trying another brand.

Some of us do not want scratches on our glass or damage in the unlikely event of a dropped phone. If you don't mind such damage or have insurance against it, by all means go nekkid!

My naked Maxx fell out of my coat pocket onto a parking lot. It didn't harm the glass, but I got a couple scratches on the edges of the body. :(

Love the info posted here about cases because I will eventually want to pick one up. For now though, I am still in showoff mode with my limited edition Red Carpet Razr Maxx. I won it directly from Moto in the twitter contest they ran in conjunction with the oscars.

Cool! Pictures or it didn't happen :D Let's see it!

So I got cruzer lite dark blue and I like it. My buddies like the Android on the back. Gonna get the black one.

The case barely adds any bolk. Just barely doesn't fit in the HD dock.

Anyone try this one out?
Qmadix Metalix Snap-On Cover for Motorola Droid RAZR MAXX - Android Hard Cases - ShopAndroid

Qmadix cover, apparently with a kickstand.

Since I have not yet replaced my VZW cover that was partially melted by chemicals (BTW, phone is STILL looking pristine and working great, even after the ezposure), I thought of getting this instead, and hoping that somehow it would still fit into the leftover holster.

P.S. I ordered it anyway, due to a confluence of discounts that would expire... I should have it next week, so I'll add my 3 cents worth here.

Nice find. Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Can you post pics as well!

Thanks.

If you like it all in black, I see that they also sell the all black case with a matching holster for about $5 more. I just like purple, and figured I probably could use the VZW holster.... when I get it next week, I will post.

Nice find. Looking forward to hearing your feedback. Can you post pics as well!

Thanks.

Anyone come across any good pouches or sheath style case?
Vertical style, soft leather preferred and no belt clip. I've seen some iphone users with them and they look nice, but iphone cases would be to small for the maxx. Nice look tho. Had one for my former BB and loved it. Slips in and out easy and stays well protected, allowing me to use it case-less then slip it back in for great protection. The few I have seen aren't very good looking.
The search shall continue. ;)

This is what I'm looking for as well, so please update if you found one.

Am looking for a inexpensive, thin, leather pouch that I can keep the phone in while it's in my pocket. I'd like to keep it nekkid when I'm actually using it. I've looked on eBay and asked around, but noone seems to have it.
