Cases for the RAZR MAXX

I just got my Qmadix shell (with the purple metallic embellishment). Shipping was very fast, thank you USPS.

The black portions feel exactly like the black top of the phone with a teeny bit of grip... the kickstand works great. I have been able to get it to slide in and out of my leftover VZW holster.

What I have noticed about the Qmadix is that while the rear is contoured on the sides, the center is much thicker than the VZW shell. Also, the side openings for the power button/volume rocker are pretty deep, and do not have the thinned out edge as the VZW cutouts had. I noticed that the rear mic hole is in the thickest part of the shell, so it is very deep. I have no idea if that will impact function or not.

After going almost two weeks with a naked Maxx, I almost resent anything on it...but I know it is for my own protection.
 
I was using the Otterbox Commuter but now use the Incipio NGP case. The NGP is thin, light, and i find it easier to type accurately. FYI.
 
So, 1 day with the Qmadix shell... feels bulkier than the VZW shell, and alarmingly to me, the back of the case is slippery enough that my little cold hands (that are frequently in gloves) would probably drop it. Deciding if I will keep it, or send it back. For someone with larger hands, it would be great protection for the MAXX.
 
Just ordered 3 Cruzer Lite Androidified A2 High Gloss TPU Soft Gel Skin Cases - For DROID RAZR MAXX. Red Green and Clear. Paid under $20 with Amazons BUY2GONE at checkout :D I hope they are nice feeling. I don't like bulk and also don't like loose cases. I will let you know how I like them when I get them in a week.
 
So, after one week, I decided to send back the QMadix....seemed to be thicker in my little hand, and slippery, as well as it seemed to throw off the balance just a bit. Going back to the VZW case/holster. I tried. And I am sure that there will be people to whome the QMadix is perfect.

It was a preorder so it just shipped today. I hope it turns out to be something I can use. $34+ with the shipping. I always dislike to order on the basis of a picture. I can repost in a couple days when it arrives. I just hope it's not to stiff.

I am not sure how I like these. They fit well. And do their job. The green is a bit yellowish and the red is on the light side. The clear is just that. Clear. I would have liked there to be a bit more color in the green and red. Darker is more like it. I know in a few days I will take of the case as I like to go commando with my phones.

RAZR Cases won't fit the MAXX - have tried that with most cases and the cases for the RAZR have the slimmed down angle on the back of the case that makes it unable to work with the MAXX

Well, My case arrived and I'm ok with it. I realize everyone has diff preferences when it comes to cases, but for anybody looking for a vertical pouch style, well this one is pretty decent. Seems very well made. My first complaint was it was to tight and hard to retrieve the maxx from it. It almost seems better suited for a razr than maxx fit wise. I was able to stretch it out a bit and after using it for a couple days find it to be fine. Over time with use I'm sure it will get nice and comfy. I like the protection and it can ride in a pocket with keys or coins and no worries. Then when it slides out it's nicely naked for use. I don't use the jack so sliding it in ports side first gives me added peace of mind that pocket lint or other dirt won't clog up my usb or other ports. Works for me. I understand it comes in a belt clip style as well. I got the no-belt clip version. At $35 with the tax it's def not cheap, but overall was worth it to me. Just my opinion for any one interested. :cool:
 
My Maxx runs around naked, but I purchased a otterbox defender today because I play beach volleyball 4-5 nights a week and I want to have my phone available. So that is the only time I will use it. The case is to Billy to cover up this sexy phone. Lol
 
You might want to consider the Trident Kraken as a viable alternative to the Otterbox Defender. Not only does it have basically the same level of protection, but you can also take the hard shell off and just use the silicone case by itself. It also comes with a metal kickstand and a belt clip / holster. In addition to this, there are attachments you can buy for it, such as a window mount.

So the QMadix feels bulkier than the VZN case? They seem to have very similar designs.

I thought so too when I first saw it, but as soon as I put it on, it was that center back that felt thicker to me. For clarity, I am not a big person, so in smaller hands, a teeny difference means a lot more than for medium to larger hands.

Just went to check this case out on their website and could only find the RAZR....no RAZR Maxx. Did I miss it?

This is the exact case that I have (well mine is purple lol) and I love it!! Probably won't protect much for bad drops, but I dropped my Charge more times than I can count with a similar case & no damage...just lucky I guess?? :p
 
Just received my Trident Kraken for the Maxx. It obviously made the phone that much bigger. I like the built in screen protector. But the two negatives are the bulk and the slippery feel of the plastic. A lot of cases, put the rubber on the outside of the plastic. Trident went the opposite and put the plastic outside of the rubber case.

I'm going to return it in for the Seido Active.
 
I ordered this silicone case for $3.75 with free shipping on eBay the other day, got here fast and fits great.
It looks and feels just like the one I paid $20 for a couple of years ago for my Droid X from Verizon.

It also came with a cheap screen protector which I may only use because I will be in the desert in a couple of weeks getting roosted with dirt from off road trucks.
