Cases - Hard Shell or Rubber?

I have the G1 which is similar since its a slider and have had a few cases.

I first bought one of those hard plastic snap on cases, it added way to much bulk to an already bulky phone so i got rid of it after a week.

I have had the ZAGG inviza shield for about a year and my phone is still in pretty good condition. I have had a few really bad drops like walking through a bar, trying to text and dropping it on a hard floor, its still working great with no cracks.

Parts of the full body shield have peeled off from wear and some dirt has gotten under the plastic which is noticeable and looks a little dirty.

When I get a droid I will probably get that case again.

That sounds like a horror story waiting to happen with how heavy the droid is. I personally don't want to test Motorola's enginuity and design for accidents.
