Cases?

So... I dropped my phone for the first time today. It's okay, but the case broke in the fall (the $30 BB case, that is).

So I'm thinking of a gel or silicone case.

Any recommendations?

I see Amzer on Amazon - but I'm not sure if the silicone or the gel are better. The reviews are similar for both.

I would use tpu case stronger than gel but thin and shock absorbent

That's the other one I was looking at. Isn't it too lumpy? What about the grip? Sticky? does it slide into your pocket?

Lumpy? I wouldn't say that, but it does have a texture to it. I happen to like the texture because it has a superb grip & kinda looks cool. I tend to be a little clumsy with phones and drop them more frequently than most, but I have never dropped my Nexus if that tells you anything. It also does not sit flush with the screen so it provides quite a bit of screen protection as well.

I admit, it does not slide in my pocket easily (I'm a back pocket person). However, I can throw the phone on the dash of the car or on the middle console and it just stays there...seriously it doesn't slide at all. I travel for a living so this is a trade off that it is worth it to me. Sliding in and out of my pocket is a minor inconvenience although for somebody who doesn't travel for a living, I can see it being a little PITA.

Lastly, I have an EVO for work with the Sprint gel case. It just seems flimsy and thin compared to this thing. It is definitely rugged and means business.

Rearth Ringke case. I've used Amzer's silicone and the S case, but I like the ringke case better. It's less bulky and feels great in the hand. I've posted a review of it in the xda forums if you want to read it. The price might steer you away from the case, but I think it's worth it. I felt the same until I used the case.
