Cases!

Ive been rocking the Kraken by Trident case and its a beast. I wanted something like an Otterbox but with a kickstand. And that it is! It is a simple silicone case wrapped in a polycarb shell. But you can knock it down to the simple silicone case and it works fantastically. The other BIG plus is the AMS system, which essentially means you can swap out the kickstand for some pretty nifty accessories like a car mount, bike mount, tripod mount and seatbelt holster. I got mine for 37 bucks on Ebay and New Egg is offering them for 32. They are DEFIANTLY worth the price. Check em out!

How's the lint situation for that case? It looks like they did what the Otterbox Defender should have which is have the silicon shell on the inside. And do you keep it on a clip or in your pocket?

The silicone by itself barely picks up any lint. In fact I was using it with just the silicone for the last couple of days and I really enjoyed it, and I usually HATE silicone. With the poly carb wrapped around the silicone, its not picking up a speck. The other thing that I usually HATE about silicone is how it sticks to the inside of one's pocket if one's pocket is skinny, like mine. And luckily thats not the case(HAH!) with this case either.

I actually forgot about the belt clip. I usually rock it without the belt clip because I usually feel a little goofy (23 year old skater kid+belt clip=no girls) but I do occasionally swallow my pride and try it out, just because it came with the case, and I like to make use of EVERYTHING when I buy it. It does protrude a little more than I'd like but it really works, and I feel all professional-like when I walk around with it. But for the most part, it sits in my jeans and works pretty well. It adds a lot of bulk but its not so much that it gets in MY way. Especially knowing that my phone will not totally break when I somehow throw it at a tree or something...

Thanks for the answers, I also hate how silicone can stick to the inside of a pocket, which is why the Otterbox Defender didn't work out for me. But if you're able to fit the Trident case (with the polycarb on the silicone layer) in a skinny pocket, then this might be the case I've been looking for. The kickstand would be nice too, so I might have to try this one out. Too bad you don't get a commission.

I just got the Trident case as well and love it. There is one thing that is not so good and redraptor I am not sure if you have had this problem, but the bottom of the case covers half the LED light. I sent Trident an email and they just got back to me and said that the case should not do that. They said they would send me a new one. I am in the process of seeing what I need to do, but this by a long shot is the best case I have used for the phone. I had the defender case and it came no where near this case. Would tell anyone to get this case.

Yeah mine does that too. But its not that big of a deal to me. Its a bummer but hardly anything I would make a big stink about.

Hi all,

First post, although I've been lurking for a while. This is the first time I've had a question that I can't find the answer to.

Has anybody found a case for the verizon galaxy nexus that is similar to (edit: I'm not allowed to post links yet apparently). It's perfect for what I need, but only fits the GSM version. In essence, I'd like to find a hard glossy white case that will make the standard galaxy nexus look more like the white galaxy nexus (which I think is gorgeous). Has anybody had any luck with this?

Thanks,

-J

EDIT: The one I tried to link to was the "SGP Samsung Galaxy Nexus case Ultra Capsule Series [Infinity White]". It's on Amazon for a fairly decent price.

Yea I love the case so no big deal.

Got the Trident Kraken yesterday and so far I'm loving it! The light being partly covered is disappointing but this is by far the best case I've tried. Feels as protected as with the Defender but much more pocket friendly.

Anyone know of a white hard case similar to the barley there cases that will fit the Verizon galaxy nexus w/ the extended battery? I have the vz hard case with kick stand which is nice but doesn't fit the extended battery unless I take the battery cover off. My ideal case would be a white barely there case w/ kick stand that fit the extended battery.

I recently picked up the Rearth Ringke Slim, and I'm pretty happy with it.

I had the Ringke silicon case for my Nexus S, and it served me well; however, I didn't want to ugly up my Galaxy Nexus with a bulky case. I searched around for a while before I found that the Ringke case for the Galaxy Nexus was entirely different from the Nexus S. It's now very thin and follows the lines of the GNex perfectly.

Since I didn't see any reviews for it in this thread, I thought I'd put one together for anyone else considering it. Overall, I'm really happy with the case. It looks good, seems protective enough, and fits very well. I do wish they had more colors to choose from, and the $26 price tag is a bit high for a case, though it does include a screen protector.

I recently made the decision to purchase a Galaxy Nexus GSM international smart phone. After researching the various cases that were available for the phone I decided to get one "Serious" case and one "Fun" case.

The fun case I decided to go with was the Mike Droid Creature Case by CaseMate ($25 + free shipping on ebaY). My only worry was whether or not the case was really as bright as it was being depicted in the photos I found online. As a hobbyist photographer I frequently notice that product photos are often poor representations of the products they represent mainly due to improper white balance and poor exposure.

I ordered the Mike Droid Creature Case a week before I ordered my phone so that I would have it when the phone arrived. When I received the case I was extremely pleased with the color and quality. As you can see from the pics below, this is a highly textured case so it definitely eliminates the slip factor. The case also fits nice and snug - contouring nicely to the shape of the phone.

The blue is WAY more subtle than what I saw in pictures. The green is definitely more on the fluorescent side but in a good way. And the silicon definitely provides a nice protective layer for the phone. Finally, the buttons all function nicely despite being covered with raised silicon material.

So on to the pics. I took these photos taking care to shoot them as accurately to the real thing as possible. The case looks like a work of art in person. I definitely recommend the "Mike Droid Creature Case" if you're looking to add a bit of fun-factor to your Galaxy Nexus.

Just curious, are there any cases available for the Nexus with 3800 mah Seidio battery? Would like something that covers whole phone. I miss my otterbox case :)

I ordered a Diztronic TPU Rev 3 case in Pink of course. Should be here Thursday which is good because I've already dropped the phone once!!
