Root [CDMA] Best Methods to Increase Battery Life

Hi All,

I have my phone rooted and I am using the MeanICS ROM. I want to know what I can do to increase battery life the most. I have CPU Master installed but it doesn't seem to work very well -- changes seem to revert back after some time. I try to set it to 700-800 mhz max and it works at first but when I check it again some hours later it reverts back to defaults (also the profile reverts back from power save to interactive). For me battery life is more important than speed so I'm willing to do quite a bit to increase battery life. Thanks in advance

Funny you ask, I was just doing some research on this myself yesterday. I did 2 things and I doubled my battery life. If you have WIFI make sure it stays on even when sleeping (otherwise it resorts to 3G). Next, and most importantly turn OFF your 3G when your not using it. I have found that ICS and 3G don't play well together. Now I only turn on 3G when I am away from a WIFI signal and ONLY when I need it. It takes 4 seconds to turn back on and there is a widget for it. Try this and let us know.

Can I get the app name for that? Also what about battery scaling or some app that I can quickly kill all the crap that runs non stop. Lastly, what about changing the time for syncing? I was thinking that I only need my email checked every half hour (or less really), is there a way for me to change this?

Just long press on an empty spot, widgets, at the very top it says "browse all HTC widgets" then look for mobile network and select. I have heard that just let the EVO kill whats not important according to system logic. In other words, EVO knows what you are not using and puts it to sleep. Changing the sync time is a good idea. Go to menu, settings, account and sync. depending on what ROM your using, you can turn off sync or touch the sync button then hit menu, settings. Most ICS just have buttons to uncheck for auto syncing.
