This is a quick guide to getting your self out of a hard place and back to a working phone, like I had to at one point. Figured help others out so they don't have to go through what I did searching. This is for the BoostMobile version ONLY.

  • First your going to need the files. ==> HERE
In that file there are 3 folders for the method your going to use for that OS. Your going to have to flash the files in a certain order.

  • fastboot flash partition gpt.bin
  • fastboot flash motoboot motoboot.img
  • fastboot flash logo logo.bin
  • fastboot flash boot boot.img
  • fastboot flash recovery recovery.img
  • fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1
  • fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk2
  • fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk3
  • fastboot flash modem NON-HLOS.bin
  • fastboot erase modemst1
  • fastboot erase modemst2
  • fastboot flash fsg fsg.mbn
  • fastboot erase cache
  • fastboot erase userdata
  • fastboot reboot
There you have it you should have a fully functioning BoostMobile Moto-G.

Got stuck here:
# fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk1

target reported max download size of 536870912 bytes
erasing 'system'...
(bootloader) Permission denied
FAILED (remote failure)
finished. total time: 0.037s

Sorry I didn't reply back... I wasn't using the Motorola version... All up and running with CyqnogenMod and wouldn't have made it without this thread!

How do I get this whole process started? I've fastbooted from the Android platform-tools folder before but here it doesn't recognize my device?

When in platform tools command prompt with phone fully on use (adb) bla bla bla

When in platform tools command prompt and the phone is in bootloader on the standard non recovery meaning not in cwm/twrp/philz u will use (fastboot) bla bla bla

So hold vol down and power for fastboot mode then open ptools command prompt and type fastboot devices u should c ur device and it should say next to it that it is in fastboot mode

So how do I access this folder in op? Do I put it in the platform tools folder?

I just want to say thank you for this useful post. I just migrated from the Boost Marquee (a phone that has served me well), and of course I had to unlock and root this so I could play with it. I was a little overzealous, and I got myself stuck. This method worked very well, and I am back at trying new roms.

Glad to be in the Moto G forum.

how do i do this on windows!? Can someone link me or tell me specific instructions. I regret going away from this type of stuff for months because ive forgotten how to do it

Thank you, just wanted to make sure. They won't repair it if it's rooted, but they will if it's unlocked.. what do they expect people with unlocked phones to do lol.

The only thing you have to do different is make sure you do fastboot flash partition gpt.bin and add fastboot flash system system.img_sparsechunk4 after you flash chunk3(Oh, and make it mfastboot instead of just fastboot if ur using mfastboot tool from "here" link above) link:falcon_boost_user_4.4.4_KXB21.14-L1.57_57_release-keys-cid9.xml.zip - FileFactory
