Hey guys been out of the loop for a couple of weeks since my misfortunes with my phones. Made the mistake of buying a Droid x2 first and last Motorola I will ever own. That lasted about a week and a half before I sold it. Well I'm back now bought a new 3vo yesterday found one with hboot 1.4 thank god. Anyway checking out xda to see what chad had cooked up while I was gone. And couldn't find his stuff and came across a few posts saying he left. Just curius if anyone knows. What happened?

Not Sure man....I was looking for him today as well....

I think he had issues with complainers in his thread, and then had disagreements with the staff because of it, which is what I read in a few post, but don't quote me on it as it was hearsay. ;)

I thought it had more to do with a number of his good kernels not being gpl. He got some proprietary code from qualcomm and they put him under nda. Xda doesn't allow non gpl, so that's what started it.

Very possible, and I can see why XDA would have an issue since they only allow GPL, but that is why I try to stay out of the drama, as I heard other stuff and thus the reason why I always say eff the hearsay and get it from the horses mouth. Too bad as he is a good man and very well respected.

The issue started because of HTC and certain parts of the kernel that were not released source code and HTC mad about it, there were legal battles and then the gpl stuff, and it came about that because of issues with htc and other parts of the kernel that chad could not because of legal reasons share, there was a lot of trouble at xda. He is not allowed to share his kernels prior to somewhere around beginning of jan. Some ppl at xda pushed the issue and it got sorted out, then the trouble started again. so its a bunch of childish xda stuff and xda is losing. get used to going to a few sites to get your stuff and thank the mods at xda

Thanks everyone that definatly clears it up. I don't mind going to infectedrom or any other sites to get it. My problem yesterday was all the dead links and then when i did find good ones I didn't have the log in for android file host to download his stuff. The HTC and Qualcomm thing makes sense cause he actually has the.downloads split up now for HTC base and Qualcomm base which he never did before.
