Root [CDMA] Evo 3d questions

Hello all. This phone is the first android that I have owned. I was able to root my phone and now I am looking for a few answers:

1. Wifi Tether doesn't work with my root, but Barnacle does. However, the loading speeds are hella slow. I don't know if I did something incorrect but it is pretty much useless.

2. Im using CPU Boost and dont know what I should put for:
a. CPU Governors
b. CPU Max Speed/Minimum Speed
c. Set on Boot
d. anything else in advanced settings
e. What should the battery temperature be??

3.I installed the GO Launcher EX and I have the factory Sense and I use the both. Is there a way I can have a different wallpaper for each? Each time I set a wallpaper on one, it changes it to both.

These are the three basic questions I have. I am enjoying this way too much and not working nearly as much! Actually on Friday during work is when I first did the perma temp root!

Welcome to Android!

I've moved your post to the Root section, no doubt the helpful cats here can answer your questions. Also, smoke over some of the threads here, maybe parts are already answered, maybe.

What you put in CPU Boost is determined by what you wish to accomplish. Do you want to do. Do you want to overclock to make the phone operate faster? Or do you want to underclock to save power? Do you want to do both through profiles?

Either way, setting the device to do it on boot is useless for our temp root settings.

If you overclock, you should work it up in stages. We know we can get the phone up to 1.8 GHz. But that does not mean your phone can get up to 1.8 GHz and be stable. Take it up to 1.4 GHz, run Quadrant Standard a few times. Don't pay much attention to the score, it's mostly irrelevant. You're running Quadrant to try to destabilize the phone. Quadrant runs the CPU and GPU through a good pace. If the phone goes over 42 degrees Celsius, then it's likely to start crashing. At least, in my experience on my DX. At 42, I had a profile that forced the phone to be throttled at 300 MHz and sit there until it was at 38.

I never changed the governors, because the default one is pretty good. The other useful one is performance, which forces min/max to be the highest the phone is capable of clocking at, even if the phone is idle. Performance increases temperature and power drain dramatically.

Thank you for your help regarding CPU Boost. Really appreciate it!

So now Im down to the two other questions.
1. About Barnacle being slow with the root
2. The different wallpapers
