Hi! My Evo 3D has HBOOT 1.5 and is rooted. I tried flashing a new kernel, and then 4G/Wifi cut off. I then read that this was because the new kernel only replaced part of the original kernel and I could use an app called Flash Image GUI to fix it. I then used this to flash the RCMIX kernel. When I tried to reboot the phone now gets stuck on the HTC logo and restarts after about 20 seconds. any solutions?!?

I recommend AnthraX or Tiamat. Just make sure you get the right version (AnthraX should be CDMA-Sense if you're on Sprint with a Sense ROM and tiamat is 8x60 for the Evo 3D).

Maybe it is the kernel's fault. I haven't heard of the dev of RCMIX updating his kernel in a while.
So, if you want to just do it the easy way, yeah, you can go through your bootloader into recovery and (after you wipe the cache and dalvik cache) flash the kernel. That'll get it so you can boot up into Android, but you won't have 4G / Wifi that way. You can then reflash the kernel using FlashGUI, if you want.
Or you can use the fastboot commands through the command prompt. So, from cmd, you have to change the directory to your fastboot directory. It should be something like C:\Program Files\Android\android_sdk\tools\
So, assuming it's that, you'd type:

Then, using your phone, you should be able to flash your kernel without issue.

Not a dumb question at all.
Synergy is a Sense ROM. The only ROMs I know of that are not Sense ROMs are CM7 (alpha), MIUI, and the ICS alpha/betas. Everything else is a Sense ROM, even Scott's 'Senseless' ROM.
Sense is HTC's launcher and framework, FYI.
Ok, so we're going to use that FlashGUI app, again. Use to find the kernel you flashed to get Android working again. I'm assuming you got either AnthraX or Tiamat. So find that kernel again and make sure to flash it. I think the RCMIX kernel was either a bad download or it's not updated to work with the newer builds. But if you use FlashGUI to flash either Anthrax or Tiamat, you should be fine. Make sure it clears cache and dalvik.
I've used FlashGUI to flash kernels on my phone. The app does work. You just have to make sure you supply it with a good kernel
After you're done here, I'd recommend you reboot into recovery and make a backup. Just so you have something to fall back on in case you're ever in trouble.

So do you have the kernel downloaded to your PC? If so, connect your phone to your computer and enable Disk Mode (from the notification bar). After a minute or so, your computer should be able to find your phone's SD card. You can open it up and copy the kernel over. FlashGUI can browse your phone's SD card for the files (after you disable disk mode).

You have HTC Sync installed still, right? You can use your PC's internet on your phone. Connect your Computer to your phone via the USB cable. Then in the notification bar, you can bring down the notification bar and select Charge Only (or whatever it is). Then select "Internet Pass-through". If you've never done this before, Windows will install the drivers (again, assuming HTC Sync is installed), and after a minute or so you should see two arrows in the upper left of the notification bar pointing left and right. This means you have internet on your phone by using your PC's internet and not any data plan or wifi. You can then download ES File explorer and install it.
