Cant get to bootloader screen. Vol dwn and power result in nothing.

Root [CDMA] first evo root. having issues

Make sure Fastboot is turned off, or do a battery pull then hit the Power and Volume down at the same time and wait for it to boot in bootloader.

my head hurts...lol.
So i tried to root with the revolution method but im on 1.50 boot loader and apparently i cant.
What i want to do is flash to boost. but i need it rooted first from what i have found looking around.

ROOTED! used video from HTC Evo Hacks! - Best HTC Evo 4G, Evo 3D, Evo 4G LTE Hacks. files needed are in the tut.
I have hboot 1.50 and this worked flawless!
I might just figure this phone out yet!

Hey, no biggie. Im glad to have a place to go for info and help.
I found this guys (HTC Evo Hacks! - Best HTC Evo 4G, Evo 3D, Evo 4G LTE Hacks) vids on youtube. I went to his site and read the tut as well. Its super easy to follow. Files are there as needed too. No crappy dwnload site. I copied and pasted the commands into cmd cuz he was hard to hear a couple times, as well as u need to capitalize some words and enter _ between words. all his commands in the tut are typed exactly as needed to put into cmd.
