Hey guys. Did a search and couldn't find anything. Also, apologies if I misplaced my question. I recently rooted my 3vo 1.5 unlocked s-on and I have noticed that when I turn my screen on the Gps is in the task bar but quickly disappears. Almost like it is sneakily running when I can't see my screen and tries to disable before you can see it. Is this normal? This is my first time rooting and I am running stock rom. It bugging me wondering why I see it almost every time I go to use my phone.. Never comes on when I'm using the phone. Sorry if this is scattered, I'm posting on my phone and can't keep up with my brain. Thanks in advance for any info.

It is probably some widget (like HTC weather or something else) that is refreshing when you turn the screen on.
Is GPS sucking up battery life? If it is in fact running in the background when your screen is off, it should be draining your battery. If it is not, it is probably some app or widget that is set to refresh often.

Thanks for the reply. It's just a little odd that I never saw this happen before root. What you say makes sense, and I will have to research further. I'm in the habit of leaving my phone plugged in most of the time so I haven't noticed it draining. I feel like it has been lasting a little longer overall since root. I will let you know more after looking into it further. I bet you're onto something with the weather. Thank you!
