Android Expert
This is a guide for the various temp rooting methods. I did not create any of these, just tested and am writing step by step guides for each method. I am not responsible for what you do to your phone.
If you have any questions or need any more info, ask. (I am making this for windows based platforms)
Any changes will revert once your phone is restarted.
Brief ADB guide
Adb is found in the android sdk. (I downloaded the file, and extracted it to c:/android so i know where to find everything to use adb)
I. First version of Fre3vo as made by agrabren, taken from the Root of all EVOWhat you need to use this method:

What he did is put adb, fre3vo and other tools needed to gain root in a zip file, he explains it well enough, so if you are interested, follow the link above
NEXT come the all in one script files that will root your phone and keep su sticky so you can continuously run root apps. These are all very similar with different tweaks by their devs

This is a simple overview of each method to temp root the EVO3D, if you have any additional questions please ask.

2. the fre3vo binary file (found in first post of link above or here)
3. HTC Drivers
You need to know the general commands of push and adb shell. If you dont know these commands then this method is not for you.
Also, this method will not keep su sticky and you will lose temp root almost immediately after you unplug from your computer.
How to root
1. Connect your phone to your computer, make sure you are set to charge only and usb debugging is on (settings->applications->development->check usb debugging
2. open your command prompt, start run cmd or start->all programs->accessories->command prompt
3. you now want to change your directory to where you unzipped sdk to
mine looks like this: c:\users\wake>
4. enter cd c:\android\platform-tools and hit enter
5. if done correctly you will now have this prompt:
c:\android\platform-tools>
(now you are ready to enter adb commands)
6. place the fre3vo file into the same place adb is located, in my case it is c:\android\platform-tools
7. enter command: adb push fre3vo /data/local/tmp
this pushes the file to your phone
8. enter command: adb shell chmod 777 /data/local/tmp/fre3vo
this commands changes the permissions of the fre3vo file to allow it to be executable
chmod 777 file change the permissions of the file file to read, write, and execute for all.
9. execute the binary using the following command:
adb shell /data/local/tmp/fre3vo
10. if done correctly, adb should close. If you enter adb shell command you should see # which means you are rooted. If you see % you are not rooted so try again.
This method is very unstable and is not recommended, but if you want to try here it is.
This method does not install superuser and busy box, so you will need to push them and execute them yourself, if you wish to try, pm me for the commands to get this temp root i will help you out.

(this is quoted as 100% stable)
this is a windows bat file that will root your phone, install su, busybox,
1. Make sure HTC sync is not running
2. Usb debugging enabled
3. Phone set to charge only
4. Download the file in the link above
5. Extract the file where ever you wish, i recommend your desktop.
(if you have tried to root before and have superuser installed, it is advisable to uninstall su)
6. open the extracted folder and run the Run_ME_Fr3vo_ROOT bat file, this is basically a run and watch file and sometimes you need to press enter to continue.
7. once bat file is done, open a root only app and see if it asks for su permission, if it does then you are done, if not reboot your phone and try again.
this is a windows bat file that will root your phone, install su, busybox,

7. after this completes test if you have super user working, if it does not work, reboot and try again
8. you can then run the bloatware disabler and the overclock files

Now this method is a little different, it is a user prompted adb script
for the EVO 3D, you will enter the following choices:
At the first screen, 1. for the evo3d
2. temp root the evo3d with fre3vo
then you are done.
