Root [CDMA] Hboot 1.5 s-on relocked boot loop! Help please!

Mattacus

Lurker
Hello everyone, I recently relocked my phone and installed stock 2.17 RUU from my computer which was successful but the phone continues to boot loop all the time. I even put the PG86IMG.zip into my sdcard and it recognized it and completed but the phone is still in boot loop. Even tried rerooting and still nothing. When I root again cant get into recovery it just boot loops as usual. No matter what, the outcome is a boot loop. Phone is CDMA, Hboot 1.50, s-on. I don't know whats going on! I did everything in my power! Please help :-(

So your screen goes from the HTC logo to the 3D animation to the sprint logo and then goes back to the 3d animation to the sprint logo and loops from there every time?

Ok...let's try this:

Unlock the bootloader, if it isn't already.

Flash a recovery using fastboot. Instructions can be found here.

Wipe cache, dalvik and system.

Flash the stock ROM, also provided in that previously mentioned link.

Reboot, does the unit still bootloop?

No, it bootloops HTC white splashscreen. I have tried unlocking rerooting plenty of times and flashing different recoveries - ie TWRP 1.1 and 2.0, CWM which have been unsuccessful and going back to relocked loading 2.17 RUU with still the same bootloop.

I also tried that before and it wont let me because I have 2.17 on the phone that this is an older one. If I recall, what started this all was I accidentally pulled the battery when i went into recovery and did backup, as it was backing up I pulled the battery and thus started the bootloop and was never able to get back into recovery. Was a stupid move, I know.

Hmm...well, what you have isn't truly a bootloop, but now that I know what you did to cause it, I think I might have a solution.

Pull out the SD card and try to go into recovery, again. You might have to re-unlock and reflash TWRP 1.1.1. Does recovery work now? If so, you need to find some way to format your SD card. Media card readers are cheap and will allow a computer to format your card. Use FAT32 for the partition. Then copy a ROM onto it and stick the SD card back in and flash the ROM.

If not, you must have fastboot installed on your PC. Do you still have any of the recovery images left from trying to flash recovery? Preferably TWRP 1.1.1. If not, download the recovery image file and name it 'recovery.img'

Now go into the bootloader, connect the USB and go into FASTBOOT USB, then type "fastboot boot recovery.img" in the fastboot directory and see if recovery comes up.

No go. Still looping and getting me frustrated. Doesn't matter what I flash it always does it. I hope someone finds a fix for this because I am not the only one from what I have been looking at, around the forums, with this issue.
