Root [CDMA] help with ics

pipster79

Lurker
i just bouth a used evo 3d on rogers. the guy i bought it from put ics on it and the 3d camera doesnt work, regular camera works fine but no 3d options work.
is there any way i can revert to stock, or just anyway to get 3d working again?

its rooted but not sure about recovery, or even what would b a good ics rom

edit: just checked and has recovery, making a backup now. any suggestions on a good ics rom?

Be careful what Rom you flash, I think you said you are on Rogers, make sure you flash a GSM Rom, not a CDMA one. so before you do anything make sure you let us know what you are doing, not to mess your phone up

The more I read about this rom the better I like it but I have a question that I would like for someone who has actual experience to answer. I recently flashed a stock EVO 3d ROM to my new EVO V because I wanted the phone flashed to a different carrier (to Verizon from Virgin) but the guy that flashes phones for me asked me to put a 3D ROM on it to make it more stable. I did that and the phone works great with a stock 3D ROM, what I want to know is will I lose the VERIZON FLASH if I install the MEAN ROM. If I lose it that will be more money I have to spend to have it flashed again and I'd rather not have to go through all that again. Please advise!:confused: [ASAP]

i think maybe you mean sprint,as the evo3d(or any evo) was not used on verizon.

but,you may or may not have issues if you flash roms or run ruus. typically the phone will be still "flashed" to virgin in that voice and text will work, but after running a rom or ruu you will have to re-enter APNs for data, and do some other things to make mms work.

if you want to run stock, you can flash this stock rom:
Shipped ROMs

that is stock ICS for rogers. it is a .exe file that you will run on your pc,plugging in your phone when instructed.

as donb said, you do not want to flash cmda roms on your gsm evo3d. you can find gsm roms for your phone here:
EVO 3D GSM Android Development - xda-developers

but prolly a little background info is in order.

is the phone s-off? or just htcdev unlocked?

you can boot to bootloader(uncheck fsatboot in settings/power,then power+vol down from powered off) and tell us the info you see there. :)

I had it flashed to the Verizon provider after I flashed a stock (Sprint) rom on it. Since it is on Verizon now I'm afraid to flash a custom Rom or Kernel not knowing if the flashing of the Rom or Kernel will "undo" the flash to Verizon. { to be more clear } How do I re-enter APN's for data and can anyone help with the "other stuff" to make MMS work?
