Can you get back into recovery? If so, I'd try this ROM:

[ROM] - [1/25/2012] - MikRunny v1.06 - [Sense 3.5 | 2.3.5 | Tweaks | Odex | GSM] - xda-developers

You can enable USB hosting from recovery and transfer the ROM over USB. The KingCobra ROM mentions Rogers, which is a Canadian carrier, IIRC.

Even if you pull out the battery, put it back in, then hold Vol down + power to boot?
