Root [CDMA] I can't install OTA with CWM recovery...

NickRL808

I have cwm recovery and stock rom. The most recent OTA for the phone activation bug keeps popping up and is very annoying. But when I try to install it I see some sort of error in cwm and my phone goes into a reboot loop. I had to wipe my caches to end the loop and ever since I've been trying to ignore the update but it just has to go.

Is there a solution for this? If I have to flash a different recovery I wouldn't mind because I don't think I need cwm anymore. I appreciate the help.

I already have stock rom so could I just flash the partition updater?

You don't have the updated stock rom. If you would like to stop getting the update notifications and run the newest update, I suggest flashing both.

So would Stock KXB20.9-1.10-1.18-1.1 deodexed and debloated with root work?

All of the roms in that thread work, it is really a matter of preference. If you want a debloated rom with root, that one is a good choice.

Okay thank you very much I'll try it in a couple hours. Btw I used your rom on the warp sequent also so thanks for that lol.

Edit: Well I got an error after when I tried flashing the rom. It said "this is for xt1031, this is an xt1034 device". And once I went to restore my backup I got "MD5 mismatch" error.

edit: that is only if you are on a Boost Moto G

Sounds like you do not have a Boost Moto G. These roms will not work on anything but xt1031.

The rom did not make your backup md5 mismatch so there must be something else going on with that. At this point, I would recommend returning to stock using fastboot with firmware for the xt1034. Good luck.

I do have the boost mobile moto g. Should I still try to fastboot the firmware?

xt1034 is not the Boost Mobile version. It is the GSM version. Boost is CDMA. Anyway, not sure how you ended up with the wrong firmware for your device if it is indeed the xt1031. If you are sure it is the xt1031, you should flash the Boost version listed on the same page I posted above.

It is definitely boost mobile cdma. How do I go about flashing the firmware?

Reporting back sorry for the delay. Flashing stock recovery in your thread then installing updates normally worked for me. Thank you.
