Root [CDMA] meanrom help

i tried to install meanrom for about the fourth time now and this time i started the bootloader and went to recovery. i have 4ext and i clicked on install from sdcard. then i chose meanrom zip and it installed. i had smartboot checked cause i am s-on. the phone finished and then rebooted. then i would show the lock ring screen but within a few seconds, it would reboot. the next time i quickly pulled the ring up and it said loading but rebooted within a few seconds. what am i doing wrong? i currently have the zr3d running. im unlocked but s-on.

in 4ext i clear the cache and delvik and also wiped all but the sdcard. i cant even seem to get a stock rom installed now. my phone also wont show the new sprint ics update. im willing to just ota and forget about being unlocked and rooted. im giving the sos rom a shot now.

Lots of folks have had issues with S-On for ICS roms.
Give team D3rps rom a Try- I am on a bareback ICS and LOVE IT.....

antrax kernel fixes this problem. I had the same issue last week, problem is solved with that kernel. Install ROM then kernel, bingo, good to go

Go to anthrax kernels website to download the kernel that will fix boot loops for those who are S-On. The web site requires registration in order to download.

what kernerl did you install or what version of meanroom ics you have? i installed the antrax kernel and still gives me bootloop

I posted a new release base on the latest Base, you may want to give that a shot.

I gave up and did the sprint ics ota. Maybe I'll root again later if it becomes an option on the new hboot. Thanks for everyone's effort though

I am running MeanRon 2.6 with 4EXT recovery on HBOOT 1.58, S-OFF, hardware version 002.

After going through the registration and account validation process at Anthrax Kernels, I tried out 3.1.9 (beta) first. I was getting outstanding standby battery life and good performance. After a day or so, got a couple of random reboots. I downgraded (this morning)the kernel to 3.0.4 after reading reports about its stability. I will try to report back on my experiences with it tomorrow evening.

I used to get boot loops with ICS ROMs when I had S-ON. I used Unknown Force's/CloseOne's HBOOT down grade procedure to get S-OFF. I understand that Jupounutbear (wire trick) method to get S-Off is much easier. Chad Goodman has (or had) a early verion of a kernel that stopped boot loops for S-ON phones, but the kernel broke USB, 3D and video recording. I recommend going the S-Off, it will make you life a lot easier when it comes to flashing ICS ROMs.

I've never had problems with boot loops or anything running ics roms with s on, still waiting on that good enough reason to s off before I do :p

So far, so good with MR 2.6 with Anthrax kernel 3.0.4, no freezes or reboots. Great standby battery and good phone performance.

Damn, you're really lucky. I can get the taste of ICS too, but not as smooth as you, find a little bit of problem here and there. Can we just switch phones ? Lol.
