Root [CDMA] MeanROM showing a blue spinning android constantly.

I have all the tools already downloaded all that stuff, were would I put the ROM and do I rename it to something other than a zip file.

You won't rename MeanROM. Leave it as a ZIP on your SD card.

You would rename twrp-1.1.1.img to recovery.img. Then flash the recovery via fastboot, as per the instructions.

Once your recovery is flashed over, you can then enter recovery via fastboot and wipe data and cache, then flash MeanROM.

Ok that's pretty much what I did to no avail.. I'm stuck with what i got at the moment... I will have to give it another go tonight and see what i get... Thanks for all the help...

Here's a quick, stupid question, now I'm having trouble flashing anything... But the stock shooter ROM.. what is all the md5 files about and what are they for.. every time I try to install any ROM it cannot find any md5 files n fails or ignores could that be my issues...

MD5 Checksum is a string of numbers that is generated by analyzing a file. The original creator of the file will generate an MD5 and post it with their upload so that those downloading it can see if the download is valid or not by comparing their MD5 that is generated with the one the file author posted. A quick google search for MD5 checker will get you one.

Scary Alien programmed one for Android, it's called AFV (Android File Verifier)

Wow. I'm really sorry about abandoning a thread that I started, but some emergencies came up and I had to be out of town for a couple weeks. I'd still like some help with this problem, as I reloaded CM9 so that I would at least have basic phone functionality while away from home, but it's definitely lacking some useful features like phone and GPS.

According to what I've read from this post, I do not have the latest firmware, and that's probably the problem. My baseband version says 0.97.10.0808. Only thing is, I don't know how to update it now that I am not running the stock ROM. I can't find anything that will allow me to upgrade using my current ROM.

Also, I'm HBOOT 1.5, unlocked of course.
My ROM had me flash a different recovery, TWRP 2.1.1 although I started with 1.1.1 as outlined in the Complete Newbie's guide. Will this change anything? I'm thinking that if I can just update the firmware to the latest I should just be able to flash MeanROM from recovery and hopefully be good to go.

Thanks! I followed all that, and it all seemed to work out. The RUU went without a hitch, I flashed TWRP 1.1.1, and then flashed the May 28 MeanROM 1.7 ICS. My phone now boots through the load screen and shows the wallpaper briefly, but then resets itself. I should have the right firmware now, but it still isn't quite there. It's close, but not there.

I'd be willing to try another ROM, too, if you've any suggestions. I really don't have my heart set on any in particular, just one with some good features and perhaps a working camera.

Some phones bootloop the ICS ROMs due to not having the VM firmware (you don't want it, either, trust me). Try ZR3DX, it's also pretty good. If you still have bootloop issues, try the Gingerbread version of MeanROM (should be 4.3 or something like that) and see if you have any bootloop problems. Also, remember to wipe everything (cache, data). You should already be cleared on the data side, but it's just a precaution/clean up from the RUU.
