Root [CDMA] MIUI Rom boot up problem?

First of all, yes I have root access on this phone. I downloaded the MIUI ROM and it says that it has installed correctly. When I reboot the system it gets stuck on the HTC screen. People say the first boot up takes a few so about the third time I tried to install on the phone I let it go for around ten minutes and it never got off the HTC screen.

Any suggestions?
 
Yes, I used the htc unlocker. I entered recovery by power button and volume down. I am running the Synergy ROM on my phone right now, just wanted to try another ROM.

with htc unlock, you have to boot into bootloader via fastboot to be able to write to the /boot partition. since miui uses a custom kernel to work it needs to write to ther /boot partition. so if you boot into hboot and connect your phone to your computer, and issue command fastboot boot recovery recovery.img you will boot into recovery via fastboot and have permission to write to /boot and in cmd, you have to cd to folder where fastboot is located.
 
Thank you, so every time i want to install another rom I will have to go through the computer sand install the same way I did with synergy ROM. Makes sense now.

Could you please explain how this is done on a Mac? I am a relative newb, and I really hate working on the Terminal, as I have no knowledge of how to use that.. I used to HTC unlock method, and I want to be able to flash a rom!! Every time I do it thru CWM, it installs fine, yet it always gets stuck on either the HTC white screen, or (in this case) the MIUI screen. How long does it usually take?? Please help! IT would be greatly appreciated. If it helps, I am running the rooted stock rom / kernel.
