Root [CDMA] new software update do I update?

I just received my evo 3d from amazon yesterday and it's telling me this morning there is an update available. Does anyone know what comes in this update and whether i should do it or not? I do want to root my phone. Please let me know guys thanks!

So far from what we have read is that those updates will not affect your possibility to root

BUT, it MIGHT affect your chances of perma-rooting.

As there isn't a permanent root or a nand unlocking yet, it's hard to say whether the update will do any harm.

It is ok to have the first ots as far as temp rooting, but i would stay away from otas. If you need htc watch, there is a manual upgrade for that to get it working without the ota. so dont take otas if you plan on rooting. nothing has come out via updates that affect too much of the phone and most of the bugs are not fixed with the first ota
