Official touch-based ClockworkMod Recovery may be around the corner

Official ClockworkMod Recovery Touch - YouTube

If you've ever used ROM Manager, DeskSMS, or the new ClockworkMod Tether on your HTC EVO, then you're familiar with developer Koushik Dutta (better known as koush). He's always hard at work on something but now he's about to take his best work, ClockworkMod Recovery, and give it quite the upgrade.
As you can see in the video above, he's adding touch screen controls to the very popular custom recovery. Some other recovery developers have put together touch screen recoveries in the past, yes, but in my personal opinion, the yet-to-be-released touch ClockworkMod is looking to be the best.
What do you think, is a touch-based custom recovery a must-have feature on your rooted EVO?

Hey Don,

I saw this over at Koush's Clockworkmod Site.

ClockworkMod ROM Manager - Recoveries

I believe he has touch recoveries out for a few other devices as well as ours!

I am still trying to figure out if I need to change the name to PG86IMG.zip and flash through the bootloader? That normally works but I got an error that said wrong image??? If you figure it out first would you be so kind as to post here so I can load this. Not against/for any particular touch recovery as I am currently using TWRP 2.1 RC but if Teamwin is not going to support it I may just move over to CWM Touch.

Thanks,

Charles

I usually wait until he does a full public release before I try anything, I am not a beta or alpha person, but I am sure others are going to give it a shot a report back, I simply posted the article that I read for others to see

Just received an ROM Manager update which fixed the invoice problems in the market since the bill is generated from within ROM Manager. I have it now and it seems to work very well. I like it and hope i can convince Koush to do the touch recovery for my Toshiba Thrive!

Thank you,

Charles

My issue is that I only use RM for flashing an image, I always boot into recovery the old fashion way, I never use CWM app for that

i have never had any issues with twrp 2.0 and love it. i am waiting until there is a 2nd build to try then will give it a shot.

You know what they say, to each their own, I am of the same thinking, if it ain't broke don't fix, and i have never had an issue with CWM, so it is all about personal feelings, they are both good whichever they use ;)

I liked how TWRP was easier to navigate than CWM. Like if you just want to wipe cache/dalvik to try a new kernel, it's just easier with TWRP than CWM. Hopefully the touch screen version of CWM corrects that problem.

Those of you that want to give it a shot, here you go click on LINKY
