Root CDMA Oxygen, Undervolting

So, I'm running oxygen now. I want to undervolt to save some battery life. I've looked though the oxygen settings, and found where I can set the speed of my processor, but nothing about undervolting. Now I'm pretty sure that SetCpu can do that. But can I do it with the kernel that came with oxygen or do I need to flash a separate one?

no no. The kernel IS undervolted. It means that for every CPU freq, the kernel has assigned a lower voltage than HTC standard kernels. Being undervolted simply means you are running a kernel that is undervolted, which you are.

Ohhhh....... Okay. That makes sense. I thought it was another setting. Thanks for the clarification.

It governs the "reponsiveness" of the CPU, i.e. how fast and how much it ramps up the cpu speed. e.g. performance will keep the cpu at full speed all the time.
On demand will ramp up as needed, I think there is a wiki somewhere for the governers..

The frequency is the speed at which your CPU operates, the Voltage is the power.(In my understanding) Oxygen is already undervolted(i.e uses less power), but you can change the frequency(i.e. speed) with Oxygen setting.

Strictly speaking power = voltage * current (sorry, never quite off duty ;))

But yeah, principle is right: lower voltage = lower power usage. Running the clock slower when the cpu is idle will also help with power consumption, in part just because you are clocking more slowly but also because most custom kernels will run at a lower voltage when at a lower frequency. That's why the "performance" governor is a bad idea - it will run the battery down as quickly as possible!

And on the other side, "powersave" will make the phone as unresponsive as possible.
