Root [CDMA] Question about Eng HBoot and TWRP

AndroidSPCS

Android Expert
I used this guide to root my E3D: [GUIDE] Root Your EVO 3D + TWRP + Eng Hboot NO ADB No Fastboot STEP by STEP [UPDATE] - xda-developers

My E3D is now rooted (Hboot v1.4) with ClockworkMod recovery.

I am hesitant on flashing the Eng Hboot and TWRP...since I didn't read a a lot of details on those things.

My questions:

1. should I flash the Eng Hboot? Why? I want to flash custom ROMs...but revert back to stock if possible. Is Eng Hboot required to flashy custom ROMs? And what other benefits to Eng Hboot?
-are there any downsides to Eng Hboot - can I go back to stock if I flash this?

2. If my CWD is working fine, any reason I should flash TWRP? Have you guys tested nandroid on TWRP to make sure it recovers fine?

Thanks in advance...

My setup is ENG HBOOT and TWRP. I flashed the eng bootloader for the vast array of commands encase there is a problem with my phone and I may need them, but it is not necessary

CWM and TWRP are like CWM and RA recovery, they are different but the same. A lot of devs promote TWRP bc of issues with the CWM faction. If CWM works for you, then why change. I like TWRP bc the nandroid size is smaller but often go to CWM for use of rom manager. Read here for the deal with the eng hboot:
