Root [CDMA] Question: Why don't you root?

Coming from a metro galaxy indulge, and the abysmal (though definitely noble) attempts to start a dev community there, it blows my mind to find a phone with such amazing support, only to find such a vast majority unwilling to tinker with it.

I'm truly curious, with this much support, what are your reasons for not rooting?

I understand why people do root their phones. They want something more than stock can offer.
If I was unhappy with the performance of my stock Evo, I might consider it, but with a good Android phone with ample storage, and a snappy processor, why root? I am happy with it now, and I live by the motto:
If it ain't broke, why fix it?:)

Root is really used to be able to get back wasted space and improve battery life (both in my own opinion) ROMs and devoted developers are a plus and very much appreciated in their hard work.

Root is a knowledge based desicion, if you know what can and can't be done while rooted/non-root then you can base your desicion if its for you or not. There is no reason to root if you do not plan on improveing or removing something u have.

So my answer is Root can be helpful but you can survive without it (as long as you have a 32gb ad card and a pocket charger for the phone) so why root if you have what you need, some people just have higher expectations
