Help CDMA Roaming?

I don't really know how to ask this, or how to explain.

Normally our phone's system is under "MetroPCS" CDMA Roaming. I was of course exploring around the phone menu's and switched on "Automatic" under the system select (CDMA Roaming).

I figured out that it helps, and that I need the auto-system roaming because I live on the beach where signal sucks (only 1X). But yet, when i go to town (where 4G is covered)...the 4G goes slower than when im set to "MetroPCS" CDMA Roaming in the 4G-covered area.

Does this make any sense at alll? Should I keep it to auto or MetroPCS?

I'm not sure how much of a difference it makes. but i usually change if over to auto.

welcome to the Spirit Forums by the way

Thanks for the welcome, but I've already had the Spirit...just was exploring. ;)

& doesn't the CDMA roaming charge though?

It does not cost money to roam in most places when you have metro. In the Metro Extended Home areas it roams on Sprint with free unlimited talk text and most times you have data, now you can also get 3G. If you roam in a market that has metro coverage or if you roam where Sprint has no coverage you roam on TravelTalk where its free unlimited texting then 19c. a min. They take money from your MetroConnect account so if you haven't added money to your MetroConnect account you cant initiate calls on TravelTalk.
